Prediction market odds, like those found for this market, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while prediction markets allow anyone to express their belief about the outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when there's significant public information or disagreement. It's common to see prediction markets incorporate information faster than sportsbooks, or to reflect different types of information, resulting in varying probabilities for the same event.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. The price discrepancies between Polymarket and Kalshi for the Besiktas vs. Zalgiris match can arise from several factors. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying levels of expertise and access to information. Trading mechanisms also differ; Polymarket utilizes a continuous double auction, while Kalshi may employ a different order-matching system. Furthermore, the volume of trading on each platform influences price discovery – lower volume can lead to greater price volatility. Currently, Polymarket favors Zalgiris Kaunas (-1.5) at 50%, while Kalshi leans toward Besiktas JK winning, demonstrating these differing viewpoints.
This market resolves around Nov 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Besiktas vs. Zalgiris match, as reported by a recognized sports data provider. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine the winning outcome and distribute payouts to traders who correctly predicted the result. This ensures a transparent and objective resolution process for this market.
Several signals could significantly impact the probabilities in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, team lineups, or changes in coaching strategies for either Besiktas or Zalgiris Kaunas could shift expectations.
