These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the second half of a college football game, including any overtime periods. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined in the second half (including overtime) of the Baylor vs UCF college football game scheduled for October 30, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold (2.5, 6.5, 9.5, 13.5, 16.5, 19.5, 20.5, 23.5, 27.5, 30.5, 34.5, 37.5, or 41.5 points), the market resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the second half count toward these markets.
Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the aggregated beliefs of informed traders. Typically, prediction markets can be more accurate than traditional point spreads, especially when significant information isn’t yet widely available. However, sportsbook odds are readily accessible and provide a common benchmark for comparison. Discrepancies between the two can present opportunities for arbitrage, though these are often fleeting due to market efficiency.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning buyers and sellers set the price based on their expectations. Traders place bids (buy orders) and asks (sell orders), and the market price fluctuates as these orders are filled. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price represents the probability of the total points scored in the second half falling below the stated value. Higher prices indicate a greater perceived likelihood of a lower total, and vice versa. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and changing sentiment among traders.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second half of the Baylor vs UCF game will be used to determine whether the market settles above or below the designated threshold. Resolution will be based on official game statistics as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders will then receive payouts based on their positions in this market, reflecting the accuracy of their predictions. The outcome is determined by the actual game results, not by any subjective assessment.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Baylor or UCF would likely have a significant impact, as this directly affects scoring potential. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact the game's style of play, could also move the market. Additionally, late-breaking information about team strategies or coaching decisions might influence trader sentiment. Finally, large-volume trades on Kalshi can themselves create momentum and shift prices, even without any specific news catalyst.
