Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set odds based on public perception and liability management, while this market represents the collective wisdom of informed traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information or risk assessments. If a candidate is heavily favored by the public, sportsbook odds may be lower (indicating a higher implied probability) than those on Polymarket. Conversely, if traders believe a candidate is undervalued, the prediction market may offer more favorable odds.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each candidate's chance of winning. As more shares are purchased for a particular candidate, the price of those shares increases, reflecting a higher implied probability of success. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share directly corresponds to the market's assessment of that candidate's likelihood of winning the Ballon d'Or for Men's Coach of the Year. The market dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available and traders update their predictions.
This market resolves around Nov 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The official winner of the Ballon d'Or Men's Coach of the Year award, as announced by France Football, will determine the resolution. The market will then pay out to those who correctly predicted the winning coach. Traders should monitor official announcements around the resolution date to stay informed about the final result and ensure accurate settlement of this market.
