These markets track the total points scored by both teams during the second quarter of a college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams specifically during the second quarter of the Ball St. vs Northwestern college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Each individual market has a unique threshold for the total points that must be exceeded in the second quarter for that market to resolve to 'Yes' – ranging from more than 2.5 points to more than 27.5 points. Only points scored during the second quarter count toward these markets.
Generally, prediction markets and sportsbook odds often reflect similar probabilities, as both are influenced by the same underlying information and public sentiment. However, prediction markets can sometimes diverge due to different participant motivations and information access. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Kalshi allows traders to directly express their beliefs without that built-in cost. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities, with Kalshi potentially offering more favorable odds depending on market activity and informed trading.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible total point ranges for the second quarter. The price of a contract reflects the market's collective belief about the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust, providing a real-time assessment of expectations. The current price indicates what traders are willing to pay or receive for a contract that pays out if the actual total points fall within the specified range.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final total points scored in the second quarter of the Ball St. vs Northwestern game will be used to determine which contracts payout. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and accurate outcome. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the actual total points scored will receive a payout as determined by the market price at the time of resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Ball St. or Northwestern would likely cause movement, as would significant changes in weather forecasts. Unexpected announcements about starting lineups or coaching strategies could also impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, as the game approaches and more data becomes available, such as early game statistics from the first quarter, the market will react to this new information, potentially leading to significant price fluctuations before Oct 10, 2026.
