Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges. Comparing the odds can be a useful exercise for informed bettors, but remember that each represents a distinct form of forecasting and carries its own inherent biases.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event's likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or other prediction venues.
This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Badanin vs. Yarovyi match, as determined by the governing sports organization. Once the official results are available, Polymarket will finalize the market, and winning shares will be redeemable for the corresponding payout based on the final market price at resolution. Traders should monitor official sources for the confirmed result to understand the market's settlement.
