This set of markets focuses on predicting the point differential in the first half of an upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific point margin threshold, allowing participants to bet on whether the winning team will exceed that margin during the first half.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the first half of the Auburn vs Ole Miss college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. If Ole Miss wins by a margin exceeding the specified threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 23.5 points), the corresponding 'Ole Miss wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes. Conversely, if Auburn wins by a margin exceeding the specified threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 14.5 points), the corresponding 'Auburn wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes. No markets resolve if the game is not started within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, at which point all open markets resolve to a fair price. All markets remain active if the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original time.
Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often aligning closely with sportsbook odds, but sometimes diverging based on information available to traders. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs about the outcome. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks to incorporate new information, like injury reports or weather forecasts, as traders react quickly to these developments. Ultimately, comparing the two can provide a broader view of expectations for the game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more people buy contracts for a particular spread, the price increases, indicating higher confidence in that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to efficiently aggregate information and generate a forecast for the first half spread of the Auburn-Ole Miss game.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the actual point spread at the end of the first half of the Auburn versus Ole Miss football game will determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and verifiable outcome. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or fulfill their obligations based on the final result.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Auburn or Ole Miss would likely cause movement, as would changes in weather forecasts that could affect the game's style of play. Significant betting activity in traditional sportsbooks could also influence trading on Kalshi. Finally, any late-breaking news about team strategy or coaching decisions could also shift the market as traders adjust their expectations for the first half spread.
