These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the first quarter of an upcoming college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to settle the outcome.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both Auburn and Georgia in the first quarter of their college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. For any market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, 7.5 points, etc.), it resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points officially recorded during the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the actual result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of the specific threshold they selected.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading on their own information and beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s line is inaccurate, they can move the price on Kalshi accordingly. Therefore, discrepancies can arise, offering opportunities for arbitrage or highlighting differing perspectives on the likely outcome of the game's first quarter.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible outcomes for the total points scored in the first quarter. The price of each contract reflects the market's assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust, providing a dynamic and real-time indication of expectations. The closer the game gets, the more the price will likely reflect the actual likelihood of each possible score range.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the first quarter of the Auburn versus Georgia football game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The total points scored by both teams during that period will be the deciding factor. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct total will receive a payout, while those with losing contracts will forfeit their investment. The resolution will be based on official game statistics.
Several factors could influence this market before the game concludes. News regarding key player injuries for either Auburn or Georgia would likely cause significant price movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact expectations for scoring. Late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could also play a role. Finally, any significant betting activity – a large volume of purchases on a specific outcome – could shift the price on Kalshi as traders react to the perceived information advantage.
