Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both Polymarket and Predict utilize identical resolution criteria, focusing on second-half goals and employing the same fallback data sources.Primary resolution logic: Official match statistics from the governing body or event organizers (MLS), with fallback to Flashscore, Sofascore, or a consensus of credible reporting.

Core resolution logic:

  • The market resolves to Atlanta United FC if they score more goals than FC Cincinnati in the second half (including stoppage time).
  • The market resolves to FC Cincinnati if they score more goals than Atlanta United FC in the second half (including stoppage time).
  • The market resolves to Draw if both teams score the same number of goals in the second half (including stoppage time).

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Postponement: If the game is postponed, the market remains open until the game is completed.
  • Cancellation: If the game is canceled entirely with no make-up game, the market resolves to Draw.
  • Data Availability: If official statistics are unavailable within 2 hours, Flashscore is used. If Flashscore is unavailable, Sofascore is used. If neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting is used. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours, the market resolves to Draw where applicable.
Timing: Resolution will occur after the completion of the second half of the match, including any stoppage time, and within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, or when acceptable data is available. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect a more diverse range of opinions than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks typically set lines based on their own models and risk management, while prediction markets aggregate the views of many individual bettors. This can lead to prediction markets being more efficient at incorporating new information and identifying mispriced outcomes. However, sportsbooks may offer different types of bets or have different margins, impacting direct comparisons. Examining both sources provides a more comprehensive view of the probabilities surrounding this market.
