Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome, and may be influenced by marketing or public betting patterns. This market, however, is driven by the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the event. As a result, prediction market prices can sometimes be more efficient and accurate, especially when there is significant disagreement between the crowd and the sportsbook’s initial assessment of the likelihood of each outcome.

This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scores the first goal in the second half of the Athletic Club vs. Real Sociedad match. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. Any disputes regarding the outcome will be handled according to Polymarket’s dispute resolution process, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution for all participants.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market before resolution. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Athletic Club or Real Sociedad would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected news related to the overall league standings or motivation levels of the teams could also contribute to movement in this market, as traders adjust their predictions based on the latest information.
