Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market incorporates a broader range of information and opinions from traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing perceptions of team form, injuries, or even public sentiment. If a significant difference exists, opportunities for arbitrage may emerge, as traders attempt to profit from the mispricing between the two types of markets.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous exchange mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, constantly updating as new information becomes available. The current volume suggests active participation and a degree of confidence in the predictions being made.

This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by identifying which team—Atalanta or Parma—scores the first goal in the first half of the match. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified against reliable sources to ensure accuracy. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Atalanta or Parma would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected lineup announcements or pre-match analysis highlighting a specific team's advantage could also shift the odds. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for understanding potential price fluctuations in this market.
