Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likelihood of each team scoring first. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook has mispriced the probability, you may see divergence between the two. However, as the event approaches, the odds on Polymarket tend to become more aligned with sportsbook lines, incorporating a broader range of information and perspectives.

This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team—Aston Villa or Manchester City—was the first to score during the first half of the match. The official match records will serve as the basis for verifying the result. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics and will be determined independently of Polymarket.
