In the upcoming Premier League game between Aston Villa FC and Brentford FC, scheduled for October 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET: This market will resolve based on the halftime score of the Aston Villa FC vs. Brentford FC match originally scheduled for October 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET, considering only goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time; second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual halftime score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying levels of information and incentives. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the likelihood of each exact first-half score. If there’s a significant discrepancy, it could indicate that the market believes a sportsbook has mispriced the probability of a particular outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities based on different methodologies.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact first-half scores. The price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect new information and opinions. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand; if many traders believe a score is likely, its price will increase, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic pricing system based on real-time market activity.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final result—the exact score at the end of the first half of the Aston Villa vs. Brentford match—will be used to determine which shares pay out. Resolution will be based on official match data, ensuring an objective and transparent process. The shares corresponding to the correct exact score will be worth 1 USDC, while those representing other scores will be worth 0 USDC.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Aston Villa or Brentford would likely cause significant shifts. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also impact trading activity. Even weather conditions on match day, such as heavy rain or strong winds, might be considered by traders. Finally, any public statements from managers or key players could potentially influence market sentiment and move the odds.
