PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both Polymarket and Predict utilize identical resolution criteria, focusing on the first goal scored within the standard match duration and handling postponement/cancellation scenarios consistently.Primary resolution logic: Official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers, with fallback to Flashscore, Sofascore, and credible reporting.

Core resolution logic:

  • The first team to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time determines the outcome.
  • If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes plus stoppage time, the market resolves to 'Neither'.
  • Postponement extends the market until the game is completed.
  • Cancellation of the game results in a resolution of 'Neither'.

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Data Availability: If official statistics are unavailable within 2 hours, Flashscore is used, then Sofascore, and finally a consensus of credible reporting. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours, the market resolves 50-50 (or to 'Draw' where applicable).
  • Score Revisions: Revisions to officially declared final scores after market resolution are not considered.
Timing: Resolution will occur as soon as official match statistics are available, with a maximum delay of 24 hours after the event's conclusion. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on models and expert analysis, while prediction markets aggregate the opinions of many individual bettors. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment diverges from expert expectations. The spread between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds can sometimes indicate opportunities for arbitrage, though transaction costs and platform fees should be considered. This market provides a unique data point for evaluating the likelihood of different outcomes.

Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Differences in pricing between Polymarket and Predict on the AS Roma vs. Genoa first-to-score market can arise from several factors. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying levels of expertise and information, leading to differing opinions on the likely outcome. Trading volume and liquidity also play a role; lower volume on one platform can result in greater price volatility. Furthermore, the specific mechanisms for price discovery – how traders place bets and adjust their positions – differ between Polymarket and Predict, contributing to these price discrepancies. These differences reflect the dynamic nature of prediction markets.
