Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives and information sources involved. Sportsbooks set odds to maximize profit, factoring in a margin for themselves, while prediction markets are driven by participants who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This market's odds reflect the aggregated beliefs of informed traders, potentially incorporating unique insights not readily available to sportsbooks. As a result, prediction markets can sometimes offer more accurate probabilities, especially when significant information asymmetry exists, and volume reaches $298.
