Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, incorporating a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each exact score. If a significant number of people believe a particular outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. This can sometimes lead to more accurate predictions, as the market aggregates diverse perspectives. It’s a useful comparison to see where public opinion diverges from professional oddsmakers.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share directly reflects the market’s implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect the collective belief of the participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth and trading volume influence how quickly and significantly the prices respond to new information or changing sentiment. The more active the trading, the more efficiently the market incorporates new data.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, team formations, or changes in coaching strategy for either AS Roma or Cagliari could significantly impact the perceived probabilities. Unexpected weather conditions on match day could also play a role. Furthermore, real-time updates during the match itself, such as early goals or red cards, would likely cause rapid price movements as traders react to the unfolding events. Overall team performance in recent matches will also be a key factor.
