This market focuses on predicting which team’s defense will score the first touchdown in an upcoming professional football game. It includes scenarios where either defense scores first or no touchdown is scored at all.
The market determines whether the Arizona Cardinals or Dallas Cowboys defense scores the first touchdown in the game scheduled for November 1, 2026, or if no touchdown is scored by either team. If either defense scores the first touchdown, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. If no touchdowns are scored by either defense during the game, the No Touchdown market resolves to Yes, and all other markets resolve to No. Special rules apply if a defensive unit is active but does not take a snap, in which case the market settles to the fair market price before the game starts. Once a defensive unit takes a snap, the outcome is determined by whether they score the first touchdown. Touchdowns scored on fake punts or offensive field goals do not count toward these markets.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. Often, prediction markets are more accurate than traditional forecasts, especially when there's significant public interest and information available. However, sportsbook odds can sometimes offer value, especially if they diverge significantly from the consensus in this market.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each player to score the first touchdown, and the price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome. As more people buy a contract, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived chance of that player scoring first. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available and traders update their beliefs about the likely outcome of the game. This creates a real-time assessment of probabilities.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which player officially scores the first touchdown in the Arizona versus Dallas game, as determined by official game statistics. The market will then pay out to those who correctly predicted the first touchdown scorer. It's important to monitor the game closely as the event unfolds to understand how the outcome will be verified.
Several signals could significantly move this market. Any news regarding player injuries to key offensive players on either team would have a major impact, as would changes in weather forecasts that could affect the passing or running game. Pre-game analysis from sports analysts and updated betting lines from sportsbooks could also influence trader behavior. Finally, any late-breaking news about team strategies or player matchups could cause shifts in the probabilities reflected in this market, leading to price fluctuations.
