This market tracks which team will score more points in the final quarter of a college football matchup between Arizona State and Texas Tech. It focuses solely on performance during the last 15 minutes of regulation time, ignoring any overtime periods. The outcome depends purely on who holds the scoring advantage in that specific segment of the game.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Arizona St. vs Texas Tech college football game scheduled for Oct 17, 2026. If Texas Tech scores more points in that quarter, the Texas Tech market resolves to Yes. If Arizona St. scores more points, its market resolves to Yes. Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. If a significant number of people believe an outcome is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price will move accordingly. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply a different assessment of probabilities. It's common to see this market diverge from traditional odds as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market's probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current top outcome is a 4th quarter tie, but this is subject to change based on trading activity and new information. The market dynamically adjusts to reflect the collective intelligence of its participants.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the 4th quarter winner of the Arizona State vs. Texas Tech game will be used to determine the winning contract. The result will be based on official game statistics and records. Any potential ties will also be verified against official sources to ensure accurate settlement. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the resolution is finalized on Kalshi.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either team, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance in earlier parts of the game, or even pre-game analysis from sports analysts, can also impact the market. A significant shift in public opinion, reflected in social media or other polls, could also contribute to price movements. Monitoring these signals can provide insights into potential shifts in the market's probability assessment.
