This set of markets tracks the point differential in a college football game between Appalachian State and Georgia Southern. Each market corresponds to a specific margin of victory, allowing participants to bet on whether the winning team will exceed that margin.
All markets resolve based on the official final point differential from the Appalachian State vs Georgia Southern college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. If Georgia Southern wins by a margin exceeding the specified threshold in any of the markets labeled 'Georgia Southern wins by over X.X points,' that market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Conversely, if Appalachian State wins by a margin exceeding the threshold in any market labeled 'Appalachian St. wins by over X.X points,' that market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For games postponed but starting within 48 hours of the original time, all markets remain open and resolve per the actual result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of the specific outcome thresholds.
Typically, prediction markets and sportsbook odds reflect similar probabilities, as both attempt to forecast the same real-world event. However, differences can emerge due to varying levels of information, market participants, and incentives. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action, while this market is driven by individuals expressing their genuine beliefs about the outcome. If there’s a significant discrepancy, it can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders attempt to profit from the mispricing between the two. It's common to see this market incorporate information faster than traditional odds.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the market’s collective probability assessment of that spread occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect new information and changing sentiment. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates what traders are willing to pay or receive for a contract that pays out $1 if the actual spread falls within the contract’s specified range, and $0 otherwise. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market remains responsive to evolving expectations.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final point spread will be determined by the official result of the Appalachian State vs. Georgia Southern football game. The market will pay out $1 to the holders of contracts corresponding to the correct spread, and $0 to those holding contracts representing incorrect spreads. The resolution process relies on publicly available data to ensure an objective and transparent outcome for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game takes place. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either team would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest unfavorable conditions for one team’s playing style, could also impact the spread. Late-breaking news about team morale, coaching decisions, or even unexpected travel disruptions could all contribute to shifts in market sentiment. Public perception, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, can also play a role, though this market represents independent trader views.
