Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and incorporate a margin for profit. This market, however, allows traders to express their own independent assessments, potentially leading to odds that are more accurate, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information access, biases, or simply the collective intelligence of the prediction market participants.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market remains responsive to changing conditions and provides a real-time assessment of expectations for the Antofagasta doubles match.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the Antofagasta doubles match is verifiable from credible public reporting.
