Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing a particular outcome, they can express that view by trading on Polymarket, potentially driving the odds closer to what they perceive as the true probability. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before a large amount of trading occurs on this market.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the likelihood of Angers or Marseille scoring first in the second half, or neither team scoring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand, with higher demand for a particular outcome increasing its price and, consequently, its implied probability.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team, if any, scores the first goal in the second half of the Angers SCO versus Olympique de Marseille match. If neither team scores in the second half, the 'Neither team to score first' outcome will be considered the result. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified sources to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Several factors could influence trading activity and move this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Angers or Marseille would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also affect the perceived likelihood of a quick goal in the second half. Additionally, any tactical adjustments announced by the managers before or during the match could shift trader sentiment and alter the odds on Polymarket. Finally, significant betting activity in traditional sportsbooks could also draw attention to this market and influence trading.
