In the upcoming Ligue 1 game between Angers SCO and Olympique de Marseille, scheduled for October 18, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET: This market will resolve based on the halftime score of the Angers SCO vs. Olympique de Marseille match originally scheduled for October 18, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET, considering only goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time; second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual halftime score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. If there's a significant discrepancy between the two, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it's important to note that prediction markets often incorporate information more quickly than sportsbooks, leading to potentially more accurate probabilities as the event approaches.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different possible exact scores for the first half. The price of each share reflects the market’s probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly, creating a dynamic representation of collective belief. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand, with higher demand pushing prices up and lower demand causing them to fall. This creates a fluid and responsive pricing system.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the outcome.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Angers SCO or Olympique de Marseille would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. Tactical announcements from either manager, such as confirmed starting lineups or changes in formation, could also impact the market. Furthermore, general football news, weather conditions on match day, and even large volume trades from influential participants on Polymarket could all contribute to price movements before the first half concludes.
