Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome, whereas this market allows for peer-to-peer trading without an inherent intermediary take rate. As a result, the implied probabilities on Polymarket often reflect the collective wisdom of informed traders, potentially identifying discrepancies or inefficiencies in sportsbook pricing. However, it’s important to remember that both represent different forms of forecasting, and discrepancies can arise due to varying information and risk assessments.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible exact score. The price of each share fluctuates based on supply and demand, ultimately reflecting the market’s aggregate prediction. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe a specific score will occur, the higher the price of its corresponding shares will rise. This dynamic pricing ensures that the probabilities displayed on the dashboard are constantly updated and represent the latest collective intelligence of the market participants.
This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the América de Cali versus Independiente Medellín match is verifiable from credible public reporting.
