Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals freely trading their beliefs. If a significant number of people believe a sportsbook is mispricing a team’s chances, the prediction market may show a different probability. It's common to see discrepancies, particularly before a lot of money has been wagered on either side, as the market efficiently incorporates new information.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing different outcomes. The price of each share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more shares are bought for a particular outcome, its price increases, and the probability of that outcome, as perceived by the market, rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand from traders on Polymarket, and isn't influenced by external factors or a central authority setting the odds.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game takes place. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the American International or Central Connecticut State teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to impact playing conditions, could also shift the odds. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team morale might also affect trader sentiment and lead to price fluctuations. Public perception, as reflected in polls or expert analyses, can also play a role.
