This market tracks the outcome of a professional basketball game between two teams competing in a league match. The result depends solely on which team secures a victory in the contest. Any changes to the game's schedule or cancellation will affect how the market concludes.
The market resolves based on the result of the men's professional LNB Elite 2 basketball game between ALM Evreux Basket and JA Vichy-Clermont originally scheduled for October 9, 2026, at 2:30 PM EDT. If either team wins the game as officially recorded, the corresponding market will resolve to Yes. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the market remains open and resolves according to the final official result. If the game is cancelled or fails to start within the 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like house bias or initial public perception. Sportsbooks may set lines to encourage balanced betting, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges. Comparing the two can provide a broader understanding of the perceived probabilities and potential value in either market, though this comparison is based on external analysis and not directly integrated into Kalshi.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the outcome of the French basketball game. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating greater confidence. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders set the odds based on their own research, analysis, and information, creating a dynamic and evolving price discovery process. The market efficiently incorporates new information as it becomes available, leading to potentially more accurate predictions than static odds.
This market resolves around Oct 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the ALM Evreux Basket vs JA Vichy-Clermont game, as reported by official sports authorities. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to determine which contracts will pay out, and at what value. Traders will receive their payouts based on their positions in the market at the time of resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before Oct 9, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or coaching strategies could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance in prior games, or even weather conditions affecting travel, may also play a role. Public opinion, as reflected in sports news and analysis, can also impact trading activity. Major upsets in other related games could also lead to adjustments in the perceived probabilities for this matchup, causing movement within this market.
