Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the beliefs of a diverse group of traders. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook is mispricing the fight, we might see the prediction market odds diverge. Generally, prediction markets tend to be more accurate than traditional polls or expert opinions, but it’s important to remember that neither is foolproof. This market provides an interesting alternative perspective on the likely outcome.
