This set of markets focuses on predicting the margin of victory for either Alabama or Tennessee specifically within the third quarter of their scheduled college football game. Each market corresponds to a different point differential threshold that must be exceeded by the winning team during that quarter alone.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the third quarter of the Alabama vs Tennessee college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. For markets where Alabama is the favorite, resolution occurs if Alabama's third-quarter point differential exceeds the specified threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 10.5 points). Conversely, for markets where Tennessee is the favorite, resolution occurs if Tennessee's third-quarter point differential exceeds the specified threshold (also ranging from 2.5 to 10.5 points). If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain active and resolve according to the official third-quarter result. Should the game fail to start within this 48-hour window, all markets will resolve at a fair price, taking into account all known information up to that point. No affiliation or endorsement by the NCAA or related entities is implied through these market rules.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on their own analysis and information. If there's a significant discrepancy, it may indicate that prediction market participants possess insights not yet incorporated into sportsbook lines, or vice versa. It’s common to see this market converge with sportsbook odds as the event approaches and more information becomes available, but differences can persist due to varying levels of information and analytical approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the outcome of the Alabama-Tennessee 3rd quarter spread. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived likelihood. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders set the odds by placing bids and asks, and the market price fluctuates based on supply and demand. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust predictions accordingly, providing a real-time assessment of the potential result.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the actual point spread difference between Alabama and Tennessee at the end of the 3rd quarter of the game. The official game results will be used to determine whether Alabama wins the 3rd quarter by over 3.5 points, or not. Traders holding contracts on the winning side will receive a payout, while those on the losing side will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence the Alabama-Tennessee 3rd quarter spread between now and resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries on either team would likely have a significant impact. Changes in coaching strategies or unexpected weather conditions could also shift predictions. Furthermore, public sentiment and analysis from sports commentators can influence trading activity. As the game draws closer, real-time updates during the first and second quarters, such as scoring plays and defensive adjustments, will likely cause substantial movement in this market as traders react to the unfolding events.
