This set of markets focuses on predicting the margin of victory for either Alabama or Tennessee within the first quarter of their upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific point differential threshold that must be exceeded by the winning team to resolve positively.
These markets resolve based on the point differential by which either Alabama or Tennessee wins the first quarter of their college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if Alabama wins by more than 10.5, 7.5, 6.5, 3.5, or 2.5 points, or if Tennessee wins by more than 10.5, 7.5, 6.5, 3.5, or 2.5 points in the first quarter, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. Only points scored during the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own analysis and information. Therefore, you might observe discrepancies between the implied probability on Kalshi and those offered by sportsbooks, potentially revealing where the crowd disagrees with professional oddsmakers regarding the likely outcome of the first quarter.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective belief of traders about the likely spread in the first quarter. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders believe Alabama will cover a particular spread, the price of contracts representing that spread will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to create a real-time estimate of the probability of various outcomes.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the actual point spread in the first quarter of the Alabama versus Tennessee football game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by a recognized sports data provider. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout of 100, while those holding contracts on incorrect spreads will not. The market’s final price will reflect the collective prediction of traders leading up to the game.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Alabama or Tennessee teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions, could also impact the spread. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might lead traders to adjust their positions. Public sentiment, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, could also play a role, though the market’s price is ultimately determined by trading activity on Kalshi.
