These markets track the point differential in the first half of an upcoming college football game, allowing participants to speculate on whether a team will win by a specific margin or more within the first half of play.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the first half of the Alabama vs Tennessee college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. Each market has a specific point differential threshold; if Alabama or Tennessee meets or exceeds their respective threshold in the first half, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. No affiliation with the NCAA is claimed, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and often incorporate a margin for profit, while this market is driven by individuals trading on their own beliefs and information. It’s common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Discrepancies can arise due to differing risk assessments and the influence of various factors affecting the game’s perceived probability.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads for the first half. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as determined by supply and demand. Traders are essentially betting on whether the actual point difference will be higher or lower than the spread they’ve purchased or sold. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe a particular spread is likely, the higher the price of contracts representing that spread will climb, and vice versa.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official first-half point spread of the Alabama versus Tennessee football game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result as reported by the governing body of college football. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout of $100 per contract, while those holding contracts on incorrect spreads will forfeit their investment. The final point spread will be the determining factor for payouts.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Alabama or Tennessee would likely cause a shift in the spread. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly those predicting adverse conditions, could also influence trading activity. Unexpected news related to team morale, coaching decisions, or even significant betting patterns observed elsewhere could all contribute to price fluctuations. Public sentiment, as reflected in polls and media coverage, can also play a role in shaping the market’s direction.
