Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Differences in pricing between Polymarket and Kalshi can stem from several factors. Each platform has its own user base, trading rules, and liquidity levels, which can influence price discovery. Furthermore, the specific markets offered on each platform might focus on slightly different aspects of the game, leading to divergent views. For example, one might offer a simple win/loss market, while the other focuses on the point spread. These variations contribute to the observed price differences, even for the same underlying event.
