Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives of participants. Sportsbooks aim to profit by setting odds that attract balanced betting, while prediction market participants are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This market reflects the collective belief of informed traders, potentially incorporating information not fully captured by sportsbooks. While sportsbooks may adjust odds based on betting volume and public perception, prediction markets tend to converge towards the true probability as more information becomes available. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage or informed betting.
