Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by individuals’ willingness to buy or sell based on their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when there's significant public interest or disagreement about the likely outcome. Comparing these odds can offer valuable insights into differing perspectives on the game’s potential results.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome of the AHL Monsters vs. Phantoms game. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the aggregated predictions of all participants, providing a dynamic and real-time assessment of the game’s potential result.
