On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders believe the Charlotte Checkers will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations in real-time, offering a forward-looking assessment of the playoffs.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results of the AHL playoffs series between the Charlotte Checkers and the Providence Bruins, specifically which team advances to the next round. The platform will verify the results against established sports news sources and official league standings to determine the winning outcome for this market. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on their holdings in the relevant shares.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Key player injuries on either the Checkers or the Bruins would likely cause a shift in probabilities. Unexpected performance in early playoff games, particularly a dominant win by one team, could also trigger substantial movement. News regarding team strategies, coaching changes, or even off-ice issues could also impact trader sentiment. Any significant development that alters the perceived likelihood of either team winning the series has the potential to move the market considerably before Oct 10, 2026.
