Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set initial lines to balance action, while this market is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. If a significant difference exists, it could indicate that the market believes the sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate or that new information hasn’t yet been fully incorporated into the sportsbook’s lines. It’s important to note that these are separate markets with different participants and motivations.
