Description

This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between India and Afghanistan scheduled for September 13 2026 at 9:30 AM ET in Afghanistan Tour of India T20s. The outcome corresponding to India will be considered correct if India is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Afghanistan will be considered correct if Afghanistan is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to profit by balancing action on both sides, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the toss outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, risk assessments, or simply variations in public opinion. If a significant difference exists, arbitrage opportunities might emerge, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome – heads or tails. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect the collective sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a 'yes' share (e.g., heads) indicates the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. The market's efficiency relies on active trading and the incorporation of new information by traders, leading to a dynamic and evolving price.

This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official result of the India vs Afghanistan T20 toss is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by the actual result of the coin toss before the start of the match. The platform will verify the outcome against widely available sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding the captains' tendencies in the toss, weather conditions that might favor one team over another, or even late-breaking team news could shift trader sentiment. Public polls or expert analyses predicting the toss outcome could also impact the market. Furthermore, large trades by influential market participants could create short-term price fluctuations. Ultimately, any information perceived as relevant to the probability of heads or tails will likely be reflected in the market’s price.
