Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction markets like Polymarket often reflect information and insights different from traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on statistical models and expert opinions, while this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a particular player is more likely to perform well than sportsbooks anticipate, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly, potentially offering a more accurate prediction of the outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome—who will be the top batter. As more shares are purchased for a particular player, the price of those shares increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price represents the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the collective intelligence of the traders on the platform. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information and changing expectations.

This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which player scores the most runs in the India vs Afghanistan T20 series. In the event of a tie, the market will resolve to the 'Draw' outcome. The official match results, as reported by reputable sports news sources, will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome and settling the market.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or weather conditions affecting the matches could cause shifts in the odds. Strong performances by a particular player in preceding matches or practice sessions could also increase their chances in the eyes of traders. Unexpected announcements about pitch conditions or strategic changes by either team could also lead to notable movements in the market as traders adjust their predictions based on this new information.
