All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. This is because prediction markets allow anyone to participate and express their beliefs, potentially incorporating information not fully captured by bookmakers. While sportsbooks set odds based on their models and profit margins, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions on team form, potential injuries, or even less quantifiable factors like team morale. Comparing these odds can offer a more nuanced view of the expected outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular team, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand, providing a real-time assessment of expectations for the first goalscorer in the Ajax vs. NEC match.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team—Ajax or NEC—scores the first goal in the match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. The platform will then confirm the winning share and distribute payouts accordingly. It’s important to monitor the match closely as the event unfolds to understand how the outcome will be determined.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Ajax or NEC would likely cause shifts in the odds. Tactical announcements from either manager, such as confirmed starting lineups or changes in formation, could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions on match day might also play a role, potentially favoring one team's style of play over the other. Finally, any late-breaking news related to team morale or internal conflicts could also move the market.
