Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines to balance their risk, while this market represents the aggregated beliefs of informed traders. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it’s important to remember that prediction markets are forward-looking, incorporating new information as it becomes available, which can lead to faster adjustments than traditional sportsbooks.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. As more shares are purchased for a specific outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, offering a real-time assessment of the potential result of the Peruvian soccer match.

This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the second half of the ADC Juan Pablo II College versus Sport Boys Association soccer match. Any official data sources will be used to determine the winner of the second half. The platform will then verify and finalize the outcome, distributing payouts to those who correctly predicted the result.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or even weather conditions impacting the match could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance in the first half, or even pre-match analysis suggesting a tactical advantage for one team, could also lead to significant price movements. Major upsets in other related soccer matches might also indirectly affect confidence in either team, ultimately impacting trading activity and the probabilities reflected in this market.
