Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, it may present an opportunity for arbitrage, where traders can profit by betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. However, it’s important to note that sportsbooks and this market have different costs and incentives, leading to potential price differences.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more shares are traded, the price of each share adjusts to reflect the collective prediction of the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, meaning a higher price indicates a greater perceived chance of success. This dynamic pricing system ensures that the market odds are constantly updated based on the latest information and sentiment.
This market resolves around Oct 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the result of the second half of the AD Pasto vs. Alianza FC match will be used to determine the winning outcome. The resolution will be based on the official match result as reported by a recognized sports data provider. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their positions based on the final result of the game.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, suspensions, or changes in coaching staff could significantly impact predictions. Unexpected weather conditions on match day could also play a role. Furthermore, in-game events during the first half of the match, such as early goals or red cards, will likely cause the market to react quickly. Shifts in public sentiment, reflected in social media or expert analysis, can also contribute to price movements in this market.
