Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the underlying mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to maximize profit, incorporating a margin for themselves, while prediction markets are driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs. This can lead to prediction markets being more accurate, especially when there's significant volume. However, sportsbook odds reflect the views of professional oddsmakers, who have access to detailed information and models. Comparing the two can provide a more nuanced view of the likely outcome of this market and identify potential discrepancies.
