If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to be accurate. If a significant discrepancy exists between the implied probability on Polymarket and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that the market believes the sportsbook is mispricing the likelihood of a specific exact score. Keep in mind that sportsbooks and prediction markets have different user bases and information sources, leading to potential differences in their assessments.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each exact score. As more shares are traded for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share directly corresponds to the probability of that exact score occurring, allowing traders to express their views and profit if their predictions are accurate. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and collective intelligence of the traders.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official result of the Académico de Viseu FC vs. Rio Ave FC match will be used to determine the winning shares. The exact score at the end of regulation time will be the deciding factor. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score will receive a payout, while those holding shares in incorrect outcomes will not. The resolution will be based on widely available and trusted sources of sports results.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Académico de Viseu or Rio Ave could significantly impact the perceived likelihood of different exact scores. Changes in weather conditions, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even shifts in public sentiment based on pre-match analysis could also drive trading volume and price movements. Any information that alters the expected outcome of the match has the potential to move this market before Nov 1, 2026.
