Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market represents the collective predictions of informed traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamics of how each venue operates. It’s common to see this market adjust rapidly to new information, potentially leading to odds that diverge from, or converge with, those offered by sportsbooks as the event approaches.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe a particular outcome is likely, the higher the price of its corresponding shares will rise. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adapt to new information and changing sentiment.

This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team, if any, scores the first goal during the first half of the AC Monza versus SSC Napoli match. The resolution will be based on official match data, ensuring an objective and verifiable result. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final outcome of this market.

Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either AC Monza or SSC Napoli would likely have a significant impact. Team lineups announced shortly before the match, tactical changes, or even weather conditions could also shift trader sentiment. Unexpected news about team morale or manager decisions could also play a role. Overall, any information that alters perceptions of each team’s chances of scoring first in the first half has the potential to move this market.
