Prediction market odds, like those seen on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect a different kind of information than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. This can lead to discrepancies, as prediction markets are often more sensitive to new information and less prone to biases introduced by bookmakers. While sportsbooks may initially offer odds based on team statistics and expert opinions, this market can quickly adjust to reflect real-time developments and collective intelligence, potentially offering more accurate probabilities.
