Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to participate and express their beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately reflect true probabilities, particularly closer to the event, as they incorporate a wider range of perspectives than a sportsbook's initial assessment. However, sportsbook odds still offer a valuable comparison point.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect the collective intelligence of the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates what the crowd believes is the probability of the first team to score in the second half of the AC Milan vs. Atalanta match.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by identifying which team scores the first goal in the second half of the AC Milan vs. Atalanta match. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified against reliable sports news sources. The platform will then distribute payouts to those who correctly predicted the outcome based on their shareholdings in this market.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market before Oct 18, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either AC Milan or Atalanta could significantly shift the odds. Tactical changes announced by either manager, or even weather conditions on match day, could also impact market sentiment. Unexpected news about team morale or internal conflicts could also play a role. Finally, significant shifts in public opinion, perhaps driven by expert analysis or social media trends, could cause the market to react and adjust its pricing.
