In the upcoming A Team Test cricket match between Zimbabwe A and Ireland A, originally scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026 at 2:30 AM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): This market refers to which team's player records the highest individual run total. The outcome corresponding to Zimbabwe A will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from Zimbabwe A. The outcome corresponding to Ireland A will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from Ireland A. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the match is canceled, does not start by Sunday, November 8, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is abandoned or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may be influenced by factors like public betting patterns or risk management. This market, however, allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome by trading shares, potentially leading to odds that more accurately represent the true probability of each player being the top batter. Discrepancies between prediction markets and sportsbooks can present opportunities for arbitrage.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of them being the top batter. Conversely, selling shares drives the price down. This dynamic pricing ensures the market odds constantly adjust to new information and collective insights.
This market resolves around Nov 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The player officially recognized as scoring the most runs in the first innings of the Zimbabwe A vs Ireland A match will be deemed the winner. The resolution will be based on official match statistics published by recognized sporting authorities. The market will then settle, and shares will be redeemed based on the final outcome.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding player form, potential injuries, or changes to the playing conditions could significantly impact predictions. Weather forecasts, particularly if rain is expected, could also affect the perceived likelihood of certain players performing well. Additionally, late-breaking team announcements or expert analysis predicting a particular player's success could drive trading volume and alter the probabilities reflected in this market.
