This market tracks the outcome of a specific esports match between two professional teams competing in a scheduled league event. The resolution depends on which team secures a victory in their league stage, directly determining the market's result. Any changes to the match schedule or cancellation follow predefined fairness guidelines.
The market resolves based on which team, 100 Thieves or Cloud9, wins the North America League Stage 2 2026 match originally scheduled for October 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM EDT. If 100 Thieves wins the league stage match under the specified conditions, the 100 Thieves market resolves to Yes, and the Cloud9 market resolves to No, and vice versa. If the match is postponed beyond 48 hours without starting, cancelled before play begins, or forfeited prior to any gameplay, both markets resolve to the fair market price. If the match starts but is later forfeited, the result follows the official outcome declared by the governing league or tournament organizer. Kalshi clarifies it holds no official affiliation with the governing league, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by house biases or initial public perception. Sportsbooks set lines based on their analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows traders to express their own independent assessments. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, it may indicate an opportunity for arbitrage, where traders can profit by exploiting the difference. It’s important to note that prediction markets tend to be more accurate than traditional polls when forecasting event outcomes.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the 100 Thieves vs. Cloud9 match, as reported by the governing body of the competition. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to determine which contracts will pay out and at what value. Traders should monitor official announcements to stay informed about the match's progress and eventual result, as this will determine the final settlement of this market.
Several factors could influence the trading activity and price movement in this market. Unexpected news regarding player injuries, team strategies, or changes in the competitive landscape could all shift expectations. Major announcements about roster changes or coaching decisions could also impact the perceived chances of each team. Furthermore, the performance of the teams in preceding matches or tournaments could influence trader sentiment. Any significant development related to the 100 Thieves or Cloud9 could lead to increased volume and price fluctuations in this market.
