Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the underlying mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to maximize profit, incorporating a margin for themselves, while prediction markets are driven by the collective opinions of traders. This can lead to more accurate probabilities, as the “wisdom of the crowd” tends to filter out biases. However, sportsbook odds can be influenced by factors like public betting patterns and liability management, creating discrepancies with this market. The volume of $205 suggests active engagement with this event.
