Generally, prediction market odds tend to be more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, as they reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders. However, sportsbook odds can sometimes offer value, especially if they are misaligned with the prediction market. It’s common to see differences in probabilities, with this market potentially showing a different likelihood of outcomes than what is offered by sportsbooks. Comparing the two can be a useful strategy for informed decision-making, but remember that both represent probabilities, not guarantees.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective belief of the traders. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people buy contracts predicting a specific outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to accurately represent the probability of each outcome occurring, as determined by the market participants. The current implied probabilities are shaped by the volume and order flow within Predict.
