Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to profit by balancing action on both sides, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. Therefore, you might find that the implied probability of a team scoring first in this market differs from the implied probability offered by sportsbooks, potentially revealing insights into public or informed opinion about the Köln vs. Union Berlin match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each team scoring first. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of that event occurring. Conversely, selling pressure decreases the price. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants.
This market resolves around Oct 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the Köln vs. Union Berlin match. The official match records will be used to determine the winning outcome. Any potential disputes will be resolved based on widely accepted sources of sports data, ensuring a fair and transparent outcome for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the trading activity and price movement in this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Köln or Union Berlin would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions on match day could also shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about starting lineups or pre-match analysis from reputable sports commentators could also contribute to volatility in this market, as traders adjust their predictions based on new information.
