This event tracks specific words and phrases that official broadcast commentators (play-by-play, color commentators, rules analysts, and sideline reporters) may say during the Liberty vs Wings women's professional basketball game scheduled for July 16, 2026. Resolution is based on the national broadcast or home team local broadcast if not nationally televised, with commentary counting from tip-off through game conclusion including any overtime periods.
Resolution is determined by whether official broadcast commentators use specific words or phrases during the Liberty vs Wings game. Commentators include play-by-play announcers, color commentators, rules analysts, and sideline reporters. Commentary counting begins at tip-off and continues through game conclusion, including overtime if applicable, and ends following any final play review decision. The national broadcast is used for resolution; if unavailable, the home team's local broadcast applies. Exact words or their plural/possessive forms must be used; grammatical and tense inflections do not count. Commercials featuring broadcast commentators do not count, but promotional content within the game broadcast does. Commentary from players, coaches, referees, guests, halftime reporters, or non-official broadcast team members is excluded. Resolution uses video evidence primarily, with official transcripts as backup if consensus cannot be reached. If the game is cancelled or fails to occur, the "Event does not qualify" market resolves to Yes and all other markets resolve to No. If postponed and rescheduled within 14 calendar days with announcement by end of the following day, markets remain open.
Prediction market odds on this market reflect real-money trader conviction, which often diverges from traditional analyst commentary or sports media predictions. While analysts may rely on historical patterns or subjective judgment about announcer tendencies, market participants price outcomes based on collective information and financial incentive to be accurate. This market's odds can serve as a counterpoint to pre-game punditry, revealing whether professional bettors expect announcers to emphasize certain themes, player performances, or storylines more or less than media consensus suggests. Direct comparison requires tracking both the market odds and published analyst takes throughout the trading window.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers for each possible announcer statement outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices range from near zero to near 100, reflecting the perceived likelihood of each phrase or mention occurring during the broadcast. As new information emerges—injury reports, team news, or betting trends—traders adjust their positions, moving prices in real time. The current leading outcome reflects the highest trader confidence, while lower-priced outcomes represent less-favored but still plausible announcer remarks.
This market resolves around Jul 31, 2026, once the Liberty vs Wings game concludes and broadcast commentary can be reviewed. The outcome is determined by verifying what the announcers actually said during the game against credible public sources, including official broadcast recordings and reputable sports media coverage. Each outcome category is evaluated independently to confirm whether the specified statement or mention was made. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final buzzer, allowing traders to see results quickly.
Major roster changes, injury announcements, or trade news involving either team can shift announcer focus and move this market significantly. Pre-game storylines—playoff implications, individual player milestones, or coaching decisions—often become talking points that traders anticipate. Media narratives and social media trends in the days before the game may signal which themes announcers are likely to emphasize. Game-day developments like unexpected lineups or warm-up incidents can also trigger last-minute repricing. As tip-off approaches, late trading volume typically increases as bettors lock in final positions based on broadcast team assignments and confirmed game conditions.
