Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)
Both Polymarket and Kalshi apply identical resolution logic: the market resolves based on the official match outcome (win, loss, or draw) after 90 minutes plus stoppage time on April 18, 2026, with consistent handling of postponements and cancellations.
Primary resolution logic:
Official MLS statistics as recognized by the governing body or event organizers (mlssoccer.com); if unavailable within 2 hours post-match, credible reporting consensus may be used.
Core resolution logic:
NYFC Win market resolves YES if and only if New York City FC wins within 90 minutes plus stoppage time; resolves NO otherwise or if game is canceled with no makeup.
Charlotte Win market resolves YES if and only if Charlotte FC wins within 90 minutes plus stoppage time; resolves NO otherwise or if game is canceled with no makeup.
Draw market resolves YES if and only if the match ends in a draw within 90 minutes plus stoppage time; resolves YES if game is canceled with no makeup, NO otherwise.
Exactly one of the three markets (NYFC Win, Charlotte Win, or Draw) will resolve YES in a completed match.
If the game is postponed, all markets remain open until the match is completed; resolution logic applies to the rescheduled date.
Edge cases & Clarifications:
Game Cancellation: If the game is canceled entirely with no makeup game scheduled, NYFC Win and Charlotte Win markets resolve NO, while the Draw market resolves YES.
Postponement: If the game is postponed, all markets remain open and unresolved until the match is completed on the rescheduled date; resolution then follows standard logic.
Scope: Regular Time Only: All markets explicitly exclude extra time and penalty shootouts; resolution is based solely on the result after 90 minutes plus stoppage time.
Source Hierarchy: Primary source is official MLS statistics; if not published within 2 hours post-match, credible reporting consensus is used as fallback.
Timing:
Resolution occurs upon official publication of the final match result by MLS or, if delayed, upon consensus of credible reporting within 2 hours after match conclusion.
